The Role: Lead Retail Sales Floor AssociateWe are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Lead Retail Sales Floor Associate to take charge of the sales floor, mentor a seasonal sales team, and elevate our customers’ experience. This is a leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, understands how to merchandise a small space for maximum impact, and has a deep enthusiasm for mountain sports and outdoor apparel.
We are Seeking: A retail professional with proven experience in sales, preferably in the outdoor industry
-A person passionate about mountain sports, technical gear, and outdoor lifestyle clothing
-Someone who is organized and attentive to detail, with the ability to lead by example and train team members
-Someone able to merchandise a small retail space creatively and effectively
-A person who is comfortable managing a team during busy, high-pressure times, including weekends and holidays.
-Someone friendly and approachable, always maintaining a customer-first mindset.
-A person who is motivated to drive store performance through strong leadership and floor presence.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Floor Management.
-Serve as the go-to leader on the floor for staff and customers.
-Supervise daily operations and ensure team members meet customer service standards
-Train, coach, and mentor seasonal retail associates on sales techniques, merchandising, and store protocols.
-Communicate effectively with buyers, managers, and other departments.
-Monitor team productivity and performance, giving feedback and delegating tasks
-Customer Service & Sales.
-Set the tone by delivering exceptional service and being the first and last point of contact for customers.
-Build strong product knowledge and share that with both team members and customers.
-Recommend gear, apparel, and accessories based on customers’ needs, skill levels, and budgets
-Handle complex customer issues with professionalism and a solutions-focused approach.
-Merchandising & Store Presentation.
-Take ownership of visual merchandising across the sales floor.
-Regularly refresh displays, rotate inventory, and optimize layout for shoppability
-Communicate with buyers about product performance and customer feedback
-Lead backstock organization and product restocking processes
-POS & Operational Tasks
-Execute point-of-sale functions including sales, returns, special orders, and account updates
-Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and inventory movement
-Write end-of-day reports summarizing sales activity and floor needs
-Assist with online order fulfillment and customer pickup coordination
-Store Maintenance
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storefront, fitting rooms, bathrooms, backstock rooms, and shared spacesEnsure trash/recycling is taken out and that shop presentation remains professional and inviting
Qualifications:
-3+ years of retail experience, with preference for outdoor or specialty retail
-Experience leading or managing a retail sales team
-Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
-A deep love of the outdoors and first-hand knowledge of skiing, hiking, camping, or other mountain sports
-Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and pivot priorities as needed
-Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and peak ski season hours
-Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/carry gear or equipment
Schedule & Seasonality: This is a full-time position that runs from September through March, with potential for continued part-time summer work based on performance and business needs. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Full-time hours average 30–40 hours/week during peak season.

Boone Mountain Sports is a family-owned outdoor and ski shop with 40+ years of heritage and heart. We’re proud to be one of the most technically advanced ski shops in Colorado—and more than just a retail space, we’re a community hub with a brewery, coffee shop, event venue, and more under one roof.
We’re looking for a Ski & Boot Technician to deliver industry-leading boot fitting, ski and snowboard tuning, mounting, boot fitting and top-tier rental experiences. Our ideal candidate is passionate about the mountains, obsessed with gear performance, and ready to help every customer hit the slopes with confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
-Rental Services
-Assist guests with ski/snowboard gear based on skill level and fit
-Perform adjustments to industry safety standards
-Provide clear equipment use and safety guidance
-Ski Tuning & Repair
-Tune skis/snowboards: waxing, edging, base repair, P-tex, binding work
-Operate tuning equipment including Wintersteiger Murcury, Grindrite 21Hundred, ST500.
-Install, calibrate, and repair bindings to spec
-Maintain high-quality demo and rental inventory
Boot Fitting:
-Assess foot anatomy and skiing style to provide optimal boot fit
-Customize boots using industry-standard techniques and tools
-Stay up to date on the latest boot models and fitting technologies
-Customer Service & Sales
-Provide professional, approachable, and informed service
-Educate customers on equipment care and gear recommendations
-Complete POS transactions and maintain customer profiles
-Assist with special orders, pickups, and online fulfillment
-Shop & Inventory Support
-Help track and maintain inventory of rental gear and parts
-Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe
-Assist with opening/closing, restocking, and day-to-day operations
What We’re Looking For: Experience as a Ski Tech or Boot Fitter preferred
-Strong knowledge of ski/snowboard equipment and tuning practices
-Familiarity with tools and machinery used in tuning and fitting
-Friendly, reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-mindedAble to stand for long hours and lift ski gear
