A special yarn construction in which Tasmanian merino fibers are spun around a polyamide filament core ensures the necessary stability and scuff protection. This makes the fabric light but extremely robust without sacrificing the benefits of merino wool. Virgin wool is naturally temperature and moisture regulating as well as odor neutralizing. In addition, at just 17.5 microns fiber diameter, the fine merino wool is soft on the skin and extraordinarily comfortable.

120 MERINO TEC
For the 120 MERINO TEC line, ORTOVOX uses a material mix made from 85% virgin wool (merino)
and 15% polyamide. The elaborate manufacturing process (CORESPUN technology by the
Südwolle Group©) of this exclusive yarn make it so special: The finest merino fibers are spun around a core of polyamide fibers. This spinning technique creates a yarn with a smooth fabric appearance and low volume. This makes it possible to produce a material that is extremely lightweight and elastic, yet extremely robust, durable and less susceptible to pilling. The 120 MERINO TEC LINE therefore combines the stability and durability of polyamide with the proven qualities of merino wool.
ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE (OWP)
Since 1995, merino wool has been an integral component of ORTOVOX’s mountainwear. Our merino wool comes from selected farms that comply with our own wool standard: the ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE. ORTOVOX obtains its virgin wool from verified and ethical sheep farms. These farms are regularly monitored within the framework of the OWP.
